Root Canal Treatment can provide comfortable, lifelong function in many cases. However, problems can develop for a multitude of different reasons. Whether the tooth never correctly healed after the first treatment or a new problem has developed long after the first treatment was completed, a retreatment may be needed on a tooth that has previously received root canal therapy.

In these cases, the previous root filling material is removed, and the interior of the tooth is examined carefully for infection, cracks, or previously untreated root canal space. The newly cleaned space will be disinfected, resealed and a temporary filling will be placed
